The width is adjusted by means of Velcro fasteners, *without* stretchy elastic bands. The black metal buckle is around 6 cm wide, with two bars each around 2.7 cm wide. The inner lining is black and appears to be a robust polyester fabric.

Nice crumbcatcher; nothing unexpected. Silk. Velcro plus metal latch in the back. Said the minimum fit-size was 31 inches waist. I beg to differ, with my girly 30 inches. With room to spare..
Bargain. Other places have comparable items from $75 to $300+.
