There is hardly a man out there with a decent tie collection who doesn’t have at least one striped tie, right! Ties with stripes are so popular because they come in such endless computations of thickness, colour and angle. Bold, thick stripes in two contrasting colours can be a focal point for a single-hued blazer or suit. Likewise, thinner stripes tend to blend in with whatever attire you’ve opted for. The striped tie can as much grab attention as it can meld magically into a shirt. Then there are unusual stripes, such as the zigzagged striped pattern that is particularly fetching when done tone-in-tone. More traditional-looking diagonal stripe patterns are often appealing to those men who hanker for their school or varsity days. There can be something very boyish about those stripes, even when worn by the mature gentleman! Stripes in their endless forms also have an uncanny ability to accentuate their given colours or hues. And few patterns provide more dramatic contrast, even clash, than a good ol’ striped tie!
