Namaste to our necktie Phulkari. The Punjabi word ‘phulkari’ literally means flower work, but refers to embroidery. A long-lasting tradition is also to give Phulkaris, embroidered shawls, to the bride in connection with weddings. Usually phulkari patterns are geometrical, but our Phulkari features the paisley pattern, also a pattern with roots in the far east. Eggplant purple inflected with champagne and pinks, and the result is a tie design with palpable fragrance of the far east.
